“They post themselves as a band worth hearing ... The Burners are simply tighter than most bar bands, (with) a future beyond other folks music.”

“Pete Byrnes and the Burners play with purpose ... Remain one of the best bar bands around.”

-Eric Shepard,
Rockland Journal News

Roots Rock, Americana, alt. Country… call it what you will, it's Pete Byrnes' brand of Rock and Roll. Influenced by Rockabilly from Carl Perkins to Stray Cats, Country from Hank Williams to Steve Earle, and Rock and Roll from Chuck Berry to Bruce Springsteen, Byrnes brings it all together with his original compositions, and covers of the genre's best songs.

Having cut his musical teeth playing original music and Rock and Roll covers on the New York/New Jersey bar scene, Pete took the drive south to Nashville where, while working for the Epiphone Guitar Co., he honed his songwriting skills. It was during this time that he would be greatly influenced by meetings with such legends as Carl Perkins and Phil Everley. Pete also learned a great deal from the performances of Chet Atkins, Steve Earle, John Hiatt, Son Volt, and others too numerous to mention.

As time passed, Pete returned home to New York. Playing up and down the East Coast with his band The Burners, he has established an aggressive, hard twanging style, and a reputation for long lasting, lively shows.

In addition to performing with the band, Pete Byrnes has been active on the solo scene playing his own brand of acoustic rock and roll. Mixing more intimate arrangements of his songs with his trademark rock and roll style, Byrnes can be found tearing it up "unplugged" as well as with The Burners.

Be sure to catch Pete Byrnes and The Burners "live."
